Michelle Thaxton is the Founder and Program Director of MOAP, LLC — a comprehensive Ophthalmic Assistant Training Program based in Detroit, Michigan. With more than 30 years of experience in ophthalmology, Michelle has built a career rooted in excellence, compassion, and a deep commitment to patient care.
As a seasoned ophthalmic assistant and Refractive LASIK Specialist, Michelle has worked alongside leading surgeons, supported thousands of patients, and mastered the clinical and technical skills that define the profession. Her expertise and professionalism have positioned her as a trusted mentor and educator within the eye‑care community.
Her extensive background includes diagnostic testing, surgical assisting, ocular imaging, patient education, and hands‑on training in fast‑paced clinical environments.
