DIAGNOSTIC TESTING

On the Left, the Ophthalmic Assistant is performing a Fluorescein Angiogram.

What is Fluorescein Angiography?

Fluorescein angiography (FA) is an imaging test that allows    Ophthalmologists to see the blood vessels in the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye. During the procedure,  fluorescent dye called fluorescein is injected into a vein in the arm.   This dye travels through the bloodstream and highlights the blood   vessels in the retina, making them more visible for photography and diagnosis.
